Wrong handed portraits

Much to their giggles, students in fifth grade were asked to draw their friend's face with their less dominant hand this morning. Righties drawing with the left, left handed folks with their right hand. This lesson is designed to help them get over their fear of not making a "perfect" drawing. As an exercise to loosen them up and encourage them to try new things, the lesson was unnerving for most but fun as well. To mix things up, I made them draw not only their friends of the same gender, but the opposite as well. The results were AWESOME! Some really cool line drawings emerged.

Might be something fun to try with the family after dinner tonight...
