Museum of Glass - Kids Design Glass Contest!

Once a month, the Museum of Glass will choose one lucky child - ages 12 and under - to create a design in glass. The designs are fantastical creatures of their imagination and the artist must name it, write an explanation or story with the creation on the attached document and turn it into the Museum.

"The Museum’s Hot Shop Team selects one design every month based on its aesthetic merits and transforms the two-dimensional drawing into a three-dimensional sculpture. As the designer, the child directs the artists as they make two sculptures—one for the child to take home and the other for MOG’s Kids Design Glass Collection." The family is given a pass to visit the Museum in Tacoma for free to watch as they create the artwork and the work may be selected as part of the traveling exhibition that visits museums around the country.

I am traveling to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma on October 20 and I am happy to submit any entries from students 12 and under! Please refer to their website to investigate previous winning entries and for more information: Museumofglass.org
